UbiSoft POD USB Patch

this one patches a previously well patched P.O.D. to accept USB game controllers, which otherwise make P.O.D. exit after intro screen.

YES! , IT IS POSSIBLE TO RUN P.O.D. ON ANY NEW MACHINE, WITH SUPERB Direct3D OR OpenGL GFX :-)

This patch only works with the exact pre-patched version as described at bottom: That is POD with the installed "3dfx Force Feedback Patch". Do not install the patch if POD is working o.k., testers on other machines than mine reported it then won't do anymore...

to Install:

Download podUsb.zip (7kb).
Extract the patch files to your POD directory, then run podUsbPatch.bat. The following two files get patched: POD\podx3dfx.exe POD\CPA\DLL\dxinput5.dll The EXE that gets patched (and must therefore be run to start POD) is "podx3dfx.exe", sometimes other ones linger around... If you want you can then remove the podUsbXXX files.

to Uninstall:

To restore an uncompleted patch or unpatch, run podUsbUnpatch.bat.
(or manually rename the backup files back to .exe/.dll overwriting the patched ones)

This patch need to be applied to P.O.D. (standard/gold) with every possible other patch applied before, as it is exactly described by Holger Bredel here.
Following his instructions it is possible to run P.O.D. on any high-end machine with WinXP, and make use of Direct3D gfx hardware.

WARNING: I can not guarantee that this piece of software will not erase your harddisk, kill your grandma or blow up your computer. But it shouldn't. Use at your own risk.
